The central part of the memorial complex is the Museum building, constructed in the spirit of contemporary architecture. At the time, it was considered an important example of modernist brutalism. The exterior of the building is designed as a dynamic composition of interwoven cubic forms. The architects of the building are Branko Tadić, Mustafa Ramić, and Zdravko Dunđerović.
The building itself was designed to blend into the natural surroundings, with large openings that create a sense of unity with the outdoor space, while visually connecting the main exhibition with the principal exhibit – the demolished bridge.
