As a witness to the specific tactics of partisan warfare and the most important symbol of the fateful events from the beginning of March 1943, the bridge is the most important part of the memorial complex Battle of Neretva.

Towards the end of 2021, the project of reconstruction of the demolished bridge on the Neretva entered the last phase. The project restored the structure of the bridge, which lies obliquely on the left bank of the Neretva, and built and installed a new steel structure that connected the two banks. With the mentioned reconstruction, the bridge will visually correspond to the reconstructed bridge from 1978. In the next period is expected the arrangement of pathways from the left and right banks of the Neretva.
